Gerhard II of Holstein-Plön (1254 - 28 October 1312), nicknamed the Blind, was Count of Holstein-Plön from 1290 to 1312. Life. He was the second son of Gerhard I, Count of Holstein-Itzehoe and Elisabeth of Mecklenburg. After his father's death in 1290, the county was divided among the surviving sons.

After the death of Gerhard II his sons Gerhard IV and his younger half-brother John III the Mild inherited and ruled in Holstein-Plön together. In 1316 the brothers militarily seized the possessions of John II the One-Eyed (d. 1321) in Holstein-Kiel, whose sons had been killed.

Gerhard I, Count of Holstein-Itzehoe, was the son of Adolf IV von Schauenburg und Holstein and Hedwig zur Lippe. He married firstly Elisabeth von Mecklenburg (c.1 1250) and had issue, Liutgard married duke John of Brunswick-Luneburg and Albert I of Anhalt-Zerbst. Elisabeth, married Burchard von Wölpe. Johann, canon in Magdeburg.
