Bernabé Visconti, en italiano y milanés Bernabò y Barnabò ( Milán, 1319- Trezzo sull’Adda, 19 de diciembre de 1385), fue señor de Milán entre 1349 y 1385, junto a su tío Giovanni, sus hermanos Mateo y Galeazzo y su sobrino Gian Galeazzo. A Bernabé lo describen los historiadores contemporáneos como un gobernante muy cruel.
At his death in 1402, the Visconti were dukes of Milan and counts of Pavia, and the family controlled most of northern Italy (see Visconti, Gian Galeazzo). His rule was followed by the catastrophic reign of his elder son, Giovanni Maria (1388–1412), under whom Gian Galeazzo’s conquests were lost and many Lombard cities reverted to local lords.
Oct 16, 1351 - Sep 3, 1402. Gian Galeazzo Visconti, was the first duke of Milan and ruled the late-medieval city just before the dawn of the Renaissance. He was the founding patron of the Certosa di Pavia, completing the Visconti Castle at Pavia begun by his father and furthering work on the Duomo of Milan.
Grazzano Visconti History. According to the texts, at the end of the 14th century, Gian Galeazzo Visconti (lord of Milan) granted permission to his sister Beatrice, who was already married to Piacenza nobleman Giovanni Anguissola, to build a castle in this inhabited area.
Gian Galeazzo's dream of founding a hereditary Visconti kingdom was cut short by his death from the plague. After his death the Visconti territories passed to Giovanni Maria Visconti, whose rule was so violent and corrupt that he was assassinated in 1412.
