Grenville College, Ballarat. Grenville College was a small non-sectarian private school in Ballarat, Victoria. Although those enrolled were predominantly boys, at least one, quite notable, student was female. History. In 1855 or earlier, Rev. T. R. Thackeray founded the Ballarat Grammar School.

Grenville College. Mr William Stallard established Grenville College in 1855 under the name Ballarat Grammar School, according to an Annual Report of Grenville College. Huxtable’s Ballarat Commercial Directory places Stallard in the ‘Commercial Academy’, at Doveton Street, Ballarat in 1857.
