Gwenwynwyn ab Owain Cyfeiliog (died c. 1216) was the last major ruler of mid Wales before the completion of the Norman English invasion. He was one of few native rulers to represent a real threat to the rule of Llywelyn the Great .

Gwenwynwyn ab Owain Cyfeiliog (fallecida c. 1216) fue la última gobernante importante del centro de Gales antes de la finalización de la invasión inglesa normanda. Fue uno de los pocos gobernantes nativos que representó una amenaza real para el gobierno de Llywelyn el Grande.

Gwenwynwyn took over from his father in southern Powys in 1195 and added the lordship of Arwystli to the south in 1197. He made an early bid for pre-eminence among the Welsh princes, launching a series of attacks upon marcher territories. He seems to have overplayed his hand, and in 1208 John deprived him of his kingdom.
