Harold Rosson, 93, passed away January 12, 2023 at Bridge Haven Opa's House. He was born in San Antonio, Texas but spent his early life in Marfa, Texas. He attended the Marfa public schools and the New Mexico Military Institute for his last two years of high school, graduating in 1945.
Harold Rosson began his film career in 1908 as an actor at the Vitagraph Studios in the Flatbush area of Brooklyn. He became the assistant to Irvin Willat at the Mark Dintenfass Studios. In 1912 he divided his time as an office boy in a stockbrokers firm and as and assistant, extra, and handyman at the Famous Players Studio in New York.
Harold Rosson (brother) Helene Rosson (sister) Arthur Henry Rosson (24 August 1886 – 17 June 1960) was an English film director. From 1917 to 1948, Rosson directed 61 feature films (including co-direction of Red River ). [1] He also worked on many major films as a second unit director until 1960, particularly for Cecil B. DeMille .
