Hace 5 días · Working together with the Bristol Engine Company, Hawker Siddeley's design team of Sidney Camm and Ralph Hooper began work on the prototype Harrier - then known as the P.1127 in 1957. Powered by the Pegasus engine, the P.1127S innovative vectored thrust system used proved pivotal, enabling the P.1127 to take off and land vertically.

Its development started in 1957, but the first flight was in November 1960. A total of 6 P.1127 were built. The fully assembled model is 20.5cm long and has a wingspan of 10.1cm. HIGHLIGHTS.
