Hedvig of Holstein (German: Heilwig, Danish: Hedevig; 1398–1436) was a duchess of Schleswig and a countess of Holstein from the family of Schauenburg. She was the mother of King Christian I of Denmark and ancestor of the Danish Royal houses of Oldenburg and Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg .

In 1110, Adolf I, Lord of Schauenburg was appointed by Lothair, Duke of Saxony to hold Holstein and Stormarn, including Hamburg, as fiefs. [1] In a battle with Denmark, however, Adolf III became prisoner of the king Valdemar II, to whom he had to give Holstein in exchange for his freedom.

El Conde Gerardo VI de Oldemburgo, llamado "el Pendenciero" (en alemán: Gerhard (Gerd) der Mutige von Oldenburg; 1430-22 de febrero de 1500), fue un Conde de Oldemburgo y regente de Bad Zwischenahn entre 1440-1482. Gerardo era el tercer hijo de Teodorico de Oldemburgo y su esposa, Helvig de Schauenburg.
