Lady Bessborough would later say that she "loved him to idolatry for seventeen years," and she had four children by him.

She probably entered the Abbey of Notre-Dames-des-Chelles to be educated, just like her older sister, Jeanne and was later known as Sister Saint Placide de Bourbon.
