12 de may. de 2023 · Henry Grey, Marquis of Dorset, having married Frances, daughter of Charles Brandon, by Mary Tudor his wife, sister to Henry VIII., was created Duke of Suffolk in 1551, but being beheaded and attainted for his designs on the Crown, in favour of Lady Jane Grey, the title was again lost by forfeiture.
23 de may. de 2023 · Charles Brandon was a flamboyant character and a great favourite with Henry VIII, who created him Duke of Suffolk in 1514. He was present at the Field of the Cloth of Gold in 1520 (fn. 25) and in 1522 he entertained the King and the Emperor Charles V to dinner at Suffolk Place, and afterwards hunted with them in Southwark Park.
