Hace 5 días · Henry Dundas, 1st Viscount Melville, son of Robert Dundas, Lord Arniston, lord president of the Scottish court of session, was born in 1742 and educated at Edinburgh High School and Edinburgh University. In 1763 he was admitted a member of the Faculty of Advocates, and soon rose to a leading position at the Scottish Bar.
