Henry FitzRoy, 1st Duke of Grafton. Later Stuart Portraits Catalogue Entry. Second son of Charles II by Barbara Villiers. When he was almost nine he married Isabella Bennet aged about five but this was not binding. They married legally for a second time in 1679. He was created Earl of Euston in 1672 and Earl of Grafton in 1675.
Henry was thus created Duke of Grafton in 1675. The Duke was appointed Colonel of the First Foot Guards, Vice-Admiral of England and Knight of the Garter. In 1683 he suppressed the Corsairs in Tunis. On 1 August 1672 he was married at the age of nine to the five-year-old Isabella , the daughter and heiress of Henry Bennet, 1st Earl of Arlington .
