In 1242 and 1252 Reginald was Justice of Forests south of the Trent and Henry III gave 50 marks to St. Peters, Bath for the soul of his son John and founded Newenham Priory on the Devon/Somerset border.

Dunstanville died with no legitimate heir and his earldom reverted to the crown upon his 1175 death. Fitzcount afterwards received several grants of land in Devon and Cornwall.
