The Earl died of a heart attack at the age of 64 at Harewood House. It is believed that Virginia Woolf based the character of Archduke Henry on him in her novel Orlando, a tribute to her lover Vita Sackville-West (Henry Lascelles was one of West's suitors).

7 de oct. de 2019 · When his grandfather died in 1892 and his father became the 5th Earl of Harewood, Henry was able to use one of his father’s subsidiary titles and be styled Viscount Lascelles. He became the 6th Earl of Harewood upon the death of his father in 1929. Henry grew up at Harewood House, the family seat near Leeds in Yorkshire, England.
