The Lascelles family still owned lucrative landholdings in Barbados as well as the magnificent Palladian mansion Harewood House in Yorkshire with its interiors by Robert Adam, furniture made by Thomas Chippendale and grounds landscaped by Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown.
