  1. Hace 2 días · Henry Phipps, 1st Earl of Mulgrave and Viscount Normanby, second son of Constantine Phipps, Baron Mulgrave, was born in 1755. He was educated at Eton and entered the army in 1775, rising to the rank of general in 1809. He entered parliament in 1784 as a supporter of Pitt, and became one of the latter's chief military advisers.
