Despite his relatively short reign, Henry's outstanding military successes in the Hundred Years' War against France made England one of the strongest military powers in Europe .

Although he was victorious, his sudden death in 1422 left his infant son Henry VI on the throne and gave the French an opportunity to overthrow English rule.

It is appreciative, it is generous in spirit and, most importantly, it engages with the work under review in a forthright and robust way.
Hace 5 días · Setting the Scene. The first Yorkist king, Edward IV, took the throne in 1461. He won his crown by force of arms, displacing Henry VI, the third Lancastrian king of England. Henry had been king since he was a baby, in 1422.
