Henry Williams (n. 11 de febrero de 1792 Gosport, Inglaterra – m. Pakaraka, Nueva Zelanda, 16 de julio de 1867) fue el líder de la misión de la Church Missionary Society (CMS) en Aotearoa ( Nueva Zelanda) durante la primera mitad del siglo XIX. Williams and Treaty. Henry Williams translated the draft Treaty into Maori and persuaded the Chiefs to sign at Waitangi. That he was successful was something that later troubled him and the other missionaries, as the Government and settlers abrogated the terms and spirit of the Treaty, with consequent suffering to Maori.
Henry Williams was the fifth of nine children born to Thomas and Mary Williams (née Marsh). He was born in Kingston (Portsea) on 11 February, 1792, and moved with the family to Nottingham in 1794. [1]

Williams entered the Royal Navy at the age of fourteen and served in the Napoleonic Wars. He went to New Zealand in 1823 as a missionary.
