Release history. Sources. Notes. Hero and Heroine is the seventh studio album by English band Strawbs . Background. After the tour supporting the previous album, Bursting at the Seams (1973), there was an acrimonious split leaving only Dave Cousins and Dave Lambert to rebuild the band.
This is a new version of Strawbs’ 1974 masterpiece Hero and Heroine recorded by the 2011 Strawbs line-up. In 2010, Strawbs toured Canada and the UK playing Hero and Heroine for the first time in its entirety, which was the impetus for this modern interpretation.
