Hertford College. As any more boring prospectus will tell you, Hertford is the one with the bridge. There’s also Simpkin the cat who arguable is the head of the whole college. With that out of the way, think about applying here if you’re after a chilled-out college that does a bit of everything Oxford has to offer.
Hertford College was established in the 1280s as Hart Hall and became a college in 1740 (although it was dissolved in 1816 and revived in 1874). The first Hertford College began life as Hart Hall or Aula Cervina , a small tenement bought by Elias de Hertford from Walter de Grendon.
