La princesa Hilda de Luxemburgo nació en 1897 y fue la segunda hija del gran duque Guillermo IV de Luxemburgo y de su esposa, la gran duquesa María Ana de Portugal. Durante su juventud, Hilda fue educada en las mejores escuelas y aprendió varios idiomas, incluyendo alemán, francés, inglés, portugués y español.
