Hind bint Utba ibn Rabi'a (Arabic: هند بنت عتبة بن ربيعة, romanized: Hind bint ʿUtba ibn Rabīʿa) was a dancer. She was a wife of Abu Sufyan ibn Harb and the mother of Mu'awiya I (r. 661–680).

Hind bint ‘Utbah (en árabe: هند بنت عتبة) fue una mujer árabe que vivió a finales del siglo VI y principios del VII; era la esposa de Abu Sufyan ibn Harb, un jeque destacado de La Meca, en Arabia occidental. Era la madre de Muawiyah I, el fundador de la dinastía omeya, y de Hanzala, Juwayriya y Umm Hakam.

Hind bint Utba (árabe: هند بنت عتبة) fue una destacada oponente convertida en compañero del profeta islámico Mahoma. Fue esposa de Abu Sufyan ibn Harb y madre del califa Mu'awiya I (r. 661–680), Hanzala, Juwayriya y Utba. Tanto Abu Sufyan como Hind originalmente se opusieron al profeta islámico Mahoma antes de su conversión al Islam en 630.
Hind bt. Utba. Hind, daughter of ʿUtba known as Hind, " the liver-eater " (d. 14/635-6) was the wife of Abu Sufyan and mother of Mu'awiya. Hind is described beautiful, clever and a poet. She lost her father, uncle and brother in the battle of Badr. She participated in the battle of Uhud and encouraged polytheists to fight with Muslims.
ʿUtbah ibn Rabīʿah ( Arabic: عُتْبَةَ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ) ( c. 563 – 13 March 624 ), also known as Abū al-Walīd ( Arabic: أبو الوليد) was one of the prominent pagan leaders of the Quraysh during the era of Muhammad. He was the father of Abu Hudhayfa ibn 'Utba, al-Walid ibn Utbah, Hind bint Utbah and father-in-law of Abu Sufyan ibn Harb.

In 605, Hind bint 'Utba led women singing war songs and laments for those killed at Badr. A poet and musician, she was considered representative of women performers of the jahiliyya , or the days of ignorance, that is a period before harems and confinement.
