Established in 1899, Hollywood Forever was the first cemetery to be built in Hollywood and is "one of the earliest examples of the lawn-park style cemetery in California." The key historical period ended in 1939 with "the cessation of all major construction and landscaping installations.
Confederate Monument (Hollywood Forever Cemetery) The Confederate Monument was a memorial installed in Los Angeles ' Hollywood Forever Cemetery, in the U.S. state of California, honoring all Confederates who had died or would die on the Pacific coast. Erected in 1925 in the Confederate section of the cemetery, it was removed in August 2017.
