Students with disabilities must have College Board approval to take the PSAT/NMSQT with accommodations. Homeschooled students are responsible for requesting their accommodations by the deadline and receiving approval. When you have approval, tell the school right away so they can order your materials before the test material ordering deadline.
In 2016, parents of homeschooled students were asked to identify the most important reason for choosing to homeschool their child. The reason for choosing homeschooling that was reported as the most important by the highest percentage of homeschooled students’ parents was a concern about school environment, such as safety, drugs, or negative peer pressure (34 percent).
In these estimations, students were defined as being homeschooled if their parents reported them as being schooled at home instead of at a public or private school for at least part of their education, and if their part-time enrollment in public or private school did not exceed 35 hours a week, and excluded students who were schooled at home primarily because of a temporary illness.
Homeschooled students average 72 points more than the nationwide mean performance in SATs. The average performance of homeschoolers is 22.8 out of 36 points compared to the national average of 21. Homeschoolers have an average graduation rate of 67% compared to the 57.5% graduation rate for students from public schools.

The difference between home and distance education. Home education—parents develop or adapt their own learning program for their child at home and the parent (or a registered teacher engaged by the parent) is the child's educator.
