Hace 4 días · The House of Windsor is a branch of the House of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha and was renamed the more "English sounding" House of Windsor during World War I due to the Germanic origins of the dynasty. Although the dynasty has only ruled the UK since 1901, Queen Elizabeth II is a descendant of English kings and queens going back well over 1000 years.
