Irene Frances Adza Mountbatten, Marchioness of Carisbrooke (née Denison; 4 July 1890 – 16 July 1956) was the daughter of William Francis Henry Denison, 2nd Earl of Londesborough, and Lady Grace Adelaide (daughter of Francis Fane, 12th Earl of Westmorland).

From the day of her marriage, her married name became Mountbatten, and she was styled as the Marchioness of Carisbrooke.
Irene, The Marchioness of Carisbrooke died after a long illness on 16th July 1956 at a private nursing home in Marylebone, London - just several days after her 66th birthday. Her ashes were interred in her husband's family chapel - the Battenberg Chapel at St Mildred’s Church, Whippingham on the Isle of Wight.
Hace 4 días · Their marriage, just two days after the loss of his princely rank, was reported in ‘The New York Times’ as a simple affair, without bridesmaids or wedding cake. Mountbatten was given the new title, Marquess of Carisbrooke and Irene became the Marchioness.
