She was a daughter of Charles Ingram, 9th Viscount of Irvine, and married Francis Seymour-Conway, the second Marquess of Hertford in 1776, at age sixteen.

From 29 May 1741, her married name became Seymour-Conway. As a result of her marriage, Lady Isabella Fitzroy was styled as Countess of Hertford on 3 August 1750.
