Hace 3 días · One source of inspiration for Tristan und Isolde was the philosophy of Arthur Schopenhauer, notably his The World as Will and Representation, to which Wagner had been introduced in 1854 by his poet friend Georg Herwegh. Wagner later called this the most important event of his life.

Telle Madame Bovary, Isolde échappée de ses landes celtiques s’efforce de conjurer la médiocrité d’une vie bourgeoise. Tristan est un mari volage qu’elle aimerait asservir.

Créée en 2015, la production de Tristan und Isolde de Katharina Wagner a beaucoup été critiquée, la position de l’actuelle directrice du festival n’étant sans doute pas pour rien dans certains des jugements qui ont pu être exprimés.
