Alexander Duff, 1st Duke of Fife, (10 November 1840 - 12 January 1912) was a Scottish peer who married Louise, Princess Royal and Duchess of Fife, the third child and eldest daughter of King Edward VII of the United Kingdom and Queen Alexandra.
Leben. Er war der älteste Sohn des James Duff, 5. Earl Fife, aus dessen Ehe mit Lady Agnes Hay, einer Tochter von William Hay, 18. Earl of Erroll. Als Heir apparent seines Vaters führte er ab 1857 den Höflichkeitstitel Viscount Macduff. Er wurde am Eton College erzogen. Von 1872 bis 1902 war er Lord Lieutenant der Grafschaft Elgin. [1] [2]

Alexander Duff, who succeeded his brother as third Earl Fife in 1809. He was educated at Edinburgh and was not intended for the army. [1]
