  1. James Hamilton, 1st Earl of Arran and 2nd Lord Hamilton (ca. 1475–1529) was a Scottish nobleman and first cousin of James IV of Scotland. He was the only son of James Hamilton, 1st Lord Hamilton, and his wife, Mary Stewart, Countess of Arran.

  5. 15 de nov. de 2023 · James Hamilton, Duke of Châtellerault and 2nd Earl of Arran (c. 1516 – 22 January 1575), was a Scottish nobleman and regent for Mary, Queen of Scots. He was the eldest legitimate son of James Hamilton, 1st Earl of Arran. Through his paternal grandmother Mary of Scotland, Hamilton was the great grandson of James II of Scotland.

On the outbreak of the Scottish Reformation he joined the Lords of the Congregation (1559) and became the acknowledged leader of the Protestant party.
