1 de may. de 2024 · When John Stewart, Earl of Buchan was born in 1380, in Argyll, Scotland, his father, Sir Robert Stewart 1st Duke of Albany, was 41 and his mother, Duchess Muriella de Keith, was 29. He married Lady Elizabeth Douglas on 1 May 1411.

He was the son of Walter Stewart, 6th High Steward of Scotland and of Marjorie Bruce, daughter of Robert the Bruce and of his first wife Isabella of Mar.
17 de abr. de 2024 · Gartnach, Mormaer of Buchan, is first mentioned as Earl of Buchan when witnessing a charter in 1115. It is thought that he acquired his Mormaership through his wife. Certainly the new earldom passed to his s-in-law Colban in right of the latter's wife, Gartnach's daugher Eve.

28 de abr. de 2024 · Biography. Alexander was the eldest son of William Comyn, earl of Buchan (d.1233), and his second wife, Marjory, who was countess of Buchan (d.c.1244) in her own right. Alexander became the sixth earl of Buchan on his mother's death.
15 de abr. de 2024 · Patrick’s second wife was Agnes, eldest daughter of Thomas Randolph, first earl of Moray (d. 1332), and Isabel, daughter of Sir John Stewart of Bunkle. The marriage was childless and after Patrick’s death the earldom of March passed to George Dunbar, the eldest son of Patrick’s cousin.
