Audley was killed and Dudley was captured. After – Richard Earl of Salisbury moved the Yorkist army to Ludlow to prepare for another Lancastrian attack.

He married twice, initially to June Isabel de Trafford née Chaplin, daughter of Lt.-Col Reginald Chaplin, whom he divorced in 1957.
