James Waldegrave, 2nd Earl Waldegrave, KG, PC, FRS (4 March 1715 – 13 April 1763) was an English politician and peer who is sometimes regarded as one of the shortest-serving prime ministers in British history.

James "Jamie" Sherbrooke Waldegrave, 13th Earl Waldegrave (born 8 December 1940), styled Viscount Chewton until 1995, is a British peer and businessman. Waldegrave is the son of Geoffrey Noel Waldegrave, 12th Earl Waldegrave (1905–1995), and Mary Hermione Grenfell (1909–1995), who studied at Somerville College, Oxford. [1]
James Waldegrave, 1st Earl Waldegrave, KG, PC (1684 – 11 April 1741) was an English diplomat and peer who served as the British ambassador to France from 1730 to 1740.

On the death of his elder brother James Waldegrave, 2nd Earl Waldegrave without male heirs in 1763, Waldegrave inherited his titles and estates, including the family seat at Chewton Mendip. He was promoted to full general in 1772 and died in 1784.
