Biografía. La actriz Jane Therese Curtin nació el 6 de septiembre de 1947 en Massachusetts, Estados Unidos. Tiene dos hermanos, Larry y Jack, éste último falleció en 2008. Es prima de la actriz y escritora Valerie Curtin. Inició su carrera artística en 1968, cuando se integró al grupo de teatro "The Proposition".
Saltó a la fama por primera vez como miembro original del elenco de la exitosa serie de comedia televisiva Saturday Night Live en 1975, luego ganó premios Emmy consecutivos a la mejor actriz principal en una serie de comedia en la comedia de situación de la década de 1980 Kate & Allie interpretando el papel de Allison "Allie" Lowell.
