Prior to that, she was news anchor at CKY-TV between August 2001 and November 2006. Before she moved to Winnipeg, Stewart worked at CTV Halifax, and Global Maritimes also as news reporter and anchor. Stewart, 39, the popular anchor at CTV Winnipeg, surprised many when she announced her departure from CTV to join CBC. She made the announcement on-air at CTV on Nov. 10, saying that the move to CBC would be effective immediately.
