Jay Schellen (born May 20, 1960) is an American drummer who is best known as the current drummer of English progressive rock band Yes, having toured with the band as an additional drummer since 2016 before becoming an official member in 2023.
Since 2016 Jay Schellen has been on tour with progressive rock legends YES, stepping in for and now sharing the drumming duties alongside legendary drummer Alan White. The 2017 live album "Topographic Drama" by YES captures Jay's performances with Alan.

20 de feb. de 2023 · Con la muerte del músico británico, el baterista Jay Schellen -quien ya hubiese colaborado en Yes como percusionista entre 2016 y 2023 de forma puntual-, pasa a formar parte de la banda como baterista oficial según ha confirmado la banda liderada por el guitarrista Steve Howe.

Jay began his musical career banging on various pots and Pans, coffee can, with pencils and metal lamp shades. Jay's dad was a pianist/classical guitarist so naturally piano was the instrument of choice for the household.
JAY SCHELLEN YES were delighted when Jay joined the band as a permanent member in 2023, fulfilling Alan White’s wishes in becoming the new drummer with YES. Having grown up playing along to YES records. He idolised Alan and in the 80s they became great friends with a mutual respect as drummers.

Jay Schellen is, in many ways, the perfect musician to fill the huge gap left in the Yes lineup by White’s sad absence.
