Founded in 1571, the College retains many of its original features – including our beautiful Elizabethan dining hall (below), Chapel, and Principal’s Lodgings. Jesus College was one of the first men’s colleges to admit women, in 1974, but nowadays, our student intake is evenly balanced between men and women.
Our students say the best things about Jesus College are the mix of people, the relaxed atmosphere, and our location in the heart of Cambridge. We admit around 145 undergraduates a year, across all subjects studied at the University, with roughly equal numbers in arts and sciences. We welcome applicants from all types of school and background.
