28 de may. de 2020 · The German physician, anatomist, psychiatrist, and physiologist Johann Christian Reil (Fig. 1) was born on 20 February 1759 in Rhaude, Ostfriesland [ 1 ]. Reil was the biggest of five brothers. He was a son of a Lutheran pastor in the small East Friesland town of Rhaude.

Johann Christian Reil (20 February 1759 – 22 November 1813) [1] was a German physician, physiologist, anatomist, and psychiatrist. He coined the term psychiatry – Psychiatrie in German – in 1808. [2] [3] Reil was one of five children, and was the son of a Lutheran pastor in Northwest Germany.
