Johann Ludwig Reichsgraf von Wallmoden-Gimborn (22 April 1736 in Hanover – 10 October 1811 in Hanover) was a German lieutenant-general and art collector. Early life. Wallmoden was an illegitimate son of George II of Great Britain by his mistress Amalie von Wallmoden.

Johann Ludwig Reichsgraf von Wallmoden-Gimborn was a German lieutenant-general and art collector.
The picture can only be traced back to the early nineteenth century, when, as the work of Anthony van Dyck, it was owned by Johann Ludwig, Reichsgraf von Wallmoden-Gimborn (1736–1811), the illegitimate son of King George II of Great Britain and his mistress, Amalie von Wallmoden, who was created Countess of Yarmouth.
Biographie. Wallmoden: Johann Ludwig, Graf von W.-Gimborn, kurfürstlich braunschweig-lüneburgischer Feldmarschall und commandirender General der gesammten königlich-kurfürstlichen Truppen, wurde am 27. April 1736 zu Hannover geboren.
Der Reichsgraf von Wallmoden-Gimborn gilt als bedeutender Kunstsammler des ausgehenden 18. Jahrhunderts. Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1749-1832) erwähnte die Sammlung in seinem Roman Die Leiden des jungen Werthers (1774), Christian Gottlob Heyne beschrieb sie in seinen Vorlesungen.
