Johannes Tserclaes Conde de Tilly. Nacido en Bravante en 1559 muerto en Ingolstadt en abril de 1632. Era miembro de una noble familia de Bravante llamada Tserclæs. Su madre era una devota católica; su padre tomó parte, al principio, en la revuelta de los Países Bajos contra España, pero en 1574 se convirtió en fiel seguidor de Felipe II.
