Johannes Brenz, latinisiert Brentius (* 24. Juni 1499 in Weil der Stadt; † 11. September 1570 in Stuttgart ), war Reformator der Reichsstadt Schwäbisch Hall und des Herzogtums Württemberg. Er vertrat Martin Luthers Theologie im Südwesten des Reichs.

He studied at Heidelberg and was ordained a priest in 1520, but by 1523 he had ceased to celebrate mass and had begun to speak in favour of the Reformation. Brenz supported the views of Martin.
