Church of Anthrax is a collaborative studio album by musicians John Cale and Terry Riley. It was released in February 1971 by record label CBS , nearly a year after the material was recorded. It followed Riley's success with 1969's A Rainbow in Curved Air and Cale's influential work with the Velvet Underground .

13 de ago. de 2014 · When the Velvet Underground’s resident art-rock modernist John Cale teamed up with avant-classical minimalist Terry Riley in New York in 1969, their short-lived joint venture ended on a sour note with Riley abruptly leaving the project. Church Of Anthrax was recorded before Cale’s solo debut Vintage Violence, but only released afterwards, in 1971.
