John Ponsonby Conroy (1786-1854) fue un oficial del ejército británico que ejerció como administrador de la duquesa de Kent y su hija, la futura reina Victoria del Reino Unido. Sir John Ponsonby Conroy, 1st Baronet, KCH (21 October 1786 – 2 March 1854) was a British Army officer who served as comptroller to the Duchess of Kent and her young daughter, Princess Victoria, the future Queen of the United Kingdom. Conroy was born in Wales to Irish parents.

21 de oct. de 2019 · John Conroy was a British soldier and a governess for Queen Victoria. He became her regent in 1827 and tried to bend her to his will, but she resisted him and his influence. He died in 1854, leaving her to ascend the throne alone.

Conroy occupied four different forward positions over the years, and was a key member of the 1952 and 1956 British Olympic squads. He won a bronze medal at Helsinki in the first of those years, when he scored the opening goal in the 2-1 win over Pakistan in the match for third place.
