  3. About Us. At A Glance. John L. Miller. North High School is named for former Great Neck superintendent, Dr. John Lewis Miller. Dr. Miller served as superintendent for 28 years between 1942 and 1970. Upon his retirement in 1970, North High School was renamed in his honor.
