Hace 5 días · He had been succeeded before 1605–6 by John Dickens, who conveyed the manor in that year to Thomas Lyttelton. (fn. 42) From that date it has descended with the manor of Hagley (fn. 43) (q.v.), and now belongs to Viscount Cobham.

Hace 4 días · Clent has since followed the same descent as Hagley, the present owner of the manor being Charles George Viscount Cobham. The rent reserved to the Crown, when the manor was given to Ralph de Somery, was granted in 1351 to Hugh de Wrottesley for life only, the grant being confirmed in 1378–9, (fn. 35) and in 1442 to William Burley for life.
