30 de sept. de 2020 · On 15th May 1464, John Neville, 1st Marquess of Montagu led a force of 3,500 men, marching south from the border of Scotland. The Lancastrians had little time to prepare for the Battle of Hexham, despite warnings by their own scouts. Henry Beaufort, 3rd Duke of Somerset rushed his forces to a site near Linnels Bridge, in to a defensive position.

John Neville was born 1431 in England to Richard Neville, 5th Earl of Salisbury (1400-1460) and Alice Montacute (1407-c1462) and died 14 April 1471 Battle of Barnet of unspecified causes. John Neville was cut down in the fighting, Warwick died soon after, and within a month Edward had reclaimed his throne and Henry VI and his line was extinguished. Youth and early career Montagu was the third son of Richard Neville, 5th Earl of Salisbury, and Alice Montacute, 5th Countess of Salisbury, and a younger brother of Richard Neville, 16th Earl of Warwick, "the Kingmaker."[1]

She was the daughter of Sir John Neville, 1st and last Marquess of Montagu and Isabel Ingaldesthorpe.1 She married, firstly, Sir Thomas FitzWilliam before 1505.1 She married, secondly, Sir Anthony Browne, son of Sir Thomas Browne and Eleanor Fitzalan, before 1506.2 She died circa 1534.
