Resumen. En este artículo se analiza la actitud cambiante frente a México de John Quincy Adams, de ser el primer arquitecto de la expansión territorial de Estados Unidos en la época nacional temprana hasta convertirse en ardiente defensor de la integridad territorial de México en los años treinta.
