John Winston Spencer-Churchill, 7th Duke of Marlborough, KG, PC (2 June 1822 – 4 July 1883), styled Earl of Sunderland from 1822 to 1840 and Marquess of Blandford from 1840 to 1857, was a British Conservative cabinet minister, politician, peer, and nobleman.

John Churchill (b. 26 May 1650 – d. 16 Jun 1722) married Sarah Jennings (b. 5 Jun 1660 – d. 18 Oct 1744), daughter of Richard Jennings, MP for St Albans. They had seven children: Harriet (b. Oct 1679 – d. Oct 1679)
Churchill, John Winston Spencer (1822–83), 7th duke of Marlborough and lord lieutenant of Ireland (1876–80), was born 2 June 1822 at Garboldisham Hall, Norfolk, eldest son of George Spencer Churchill (1793–1857), 6th duke, and his wife Lady Jane (1798–1844), daughter of George Stewart, 8th earl of Galloway.
John Spencer-Churchill was born on 2 June 1822, eldest son of the 6th Duke and his first wife, Jane. He was educated at Eton and Oriel College, University of Oxford and in 1843 married Lady Frances Vane, having eleven children.

John Winston Spencer Churchill, 7th Duke of Marlborough (1822-83), son of the 6th Duke, was a Conservative politician. As Marquess of Blandford he was M.P. for Woodstock, 1844-45 and 1847-57. Churchill was Lord Steward of the Household, 1866-67, and Lord President of the Council in Benjamin Disraeli's government, 1867-68.
Duke of Marlborough ( pronounced / ˈmɔːrlbrə /) is a title in the Peerage of England. It was created by Queen Anne in 1702 for John Churchill, 1st Earl of Marlborough (1650–1722), the noted military leader. In historical texts, unqualified use of the title typically refers to the 1st Duke.
