When John Stewart Earl of Mar was born on 16 July 1479, in Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland, his father, James III King of Scotland, was 28 and his mother, Margaret of Denmark Queen Consort of Scotland, was 23. He died on 11 March 1503, in his hometown, at the age of 23.
