Joost Bürgi o Jobst Bürgi ( 28 de febrero, 1552, Lichtensteig, Suiza - 31 de enero, 1632, Kassel, Hesse-Kassel) fue un relojero y matemático suizo. Él es algunas veces acreditado como el inventor de los Logaritmos (publicados en 1620 ), de todas formas el crédito más comúnmente va a John Napier quien publicó su trabajo más temprano.
Bürgi, Joost or Jost, 1552–1632, Swiss mathematician and instrument maker. As the official clockmaker (1579–92) to Duke Wilhelm IV of Hesse-Kassell, he developed the first clock with a minute hand, as well as sextants and other astronomical instruments.
