Former Wichita Thunder goaltender Georgi Romanov became the 752nd former ECHL player to reach the National Hockey League when he debuted with the San Jose Sharks on Monday at Edmonton. Romanov is the 12th former ECHL player to make his NHL debut during the 2023-24 season.

A start in the NHL would make him the second Sharks goalie this season to play in all three leagues, joining Magnus Chrona, who’s managed a .859 in nine NHL games.
